Newborn Photo Sessions

Frequently asked questions

I wanted to answer some common questions for you about outdoor newborn photo sessions.

AT WHAT AGE CAN WE DO AN OUTDOOR “NEWBORN” PHOTO SESSION?

I put this in quotes because your baby doesn’t have to be a newborn, we can capture great memories for your family no matter the age of your baby.  This is the great thing about lifestyle photo sessions. We can document your family at any stage! If you have a winter baby, no need to worry. You family will be settle in to life with baby and baby will be more interactive when warmer weather comes around. Any time during the first year we can do an outdoor newborn photo session.

HOW WILL YOU GET SIBLING PHOTOS DURING AN OUTDOOR NEWBORN PHOTO SESSION?

I will have you bring a blanket.  We will use this blanket in place of the typical master bed photos.  For families that are comfortable having older siblings hold the baby, they can do this on the blanket.  If the older sibling is not able to hold the baby, we will place the baby on the blanket and have the older sibling sit behind or next to the baby.

HOW WILL THE OUTDOOR PHOTO SESSION BE DIFFERENT THEN AN INDOOR SESSION?

We won’t be in the comfort of your own home, so I wont be able to photograph the details of your nursery.  These sessions won’t occur mid morning like my typical newborn session do, but will be either early morning or in the evening.  These times are best for light, but also to avoid crowds right now.

HOW WILL THE PHOTO SESSION BE THE SAME AS AN IN HOME SESSION?

I will capture the love that your family has, while you cuddle your new baby.  I will get photos of the whole family and combinations like mom with baby, dad with baby, and sibling photos.  It will be a fun experience that you will be able to look back on and remember during this strange time in all of our lives.
