There’s a special kind of magic in the chaos, and this family maternity photo session had plenty of it in the very best way.

When one of your closest friends has four girls and you have three of your own, you can imagine what happens when everyone gets together for photos! There were giggles, cuddles, plenty of running around, and a whole lot of personality. And, of course, a few unexpected appearances from my 7-year-old’s bright red shoes.

But honestly, I wouldn’t trade a single second of it.

As a photographer, I love the beautifully imperfect moments that happen in between the posed ones. The spontaneous hugs, the silly faces, the girls laughing together, and the little moments of connection that unfold naturally. Those are often the photos that end up meaning the most.

This session was a perfect reminder that family photos don’t have to be perfectly posed or perfectly coordinated to be beautiful. Sometimes, the magic is in the messiness of real life.

And this family has so much to celebrate!

With four big sisters eagerly awaiting his arrival, this baby boy is already surrounded by so much love. Watching these girls together made it easy to imagine all the memories they’re about to make as a family of seven.

Sessions like this are why I love what I do. It’s not just about beautiful photos. It’s about capturing the laughter, the relationships, and the little moments that make your family yours.

Because one day, the chaos will look a little different. The girls will be a little older, the baby will be running around with them, and these photographs will be a reminder of exactly what life felt like in this season.

And that’s the kind of magic worth remembering.
