Photography is a second career for me. My Business has pushed me out of my introverted comfort zone and allowed me to meet so many amazing families that I would have never met otherwise. I feel so incredibly fortunate that I got a second chance on picking a career and am absolutely head over heels in love with it.
When my oldest daughter was born, she went into the NICU. The week after we got home from the hospital, we had a photographer come to our house for a posed newborn session. I remember watching her manipulate my little baby into poses and place her into wooden bowls. My gut feeling is that I just wanted to grab my baby and hold her. When I started my business, I knew I didn’t want to do posed newborn sessions; some people do it beautifully, but it’s just not for me. I want to capture natural moments of families snuggling and enjoying their new little one.

Wayland has some of my all time favorite session locations! My family also loves many of the Wayland Conservation Land areas to take walks. We often take walks at Wayland Greenway and then head over to the Local for a meal afterwards. We recently discovered Russels Garden Center. I kill all plants, but my dad helps my girls garden in the spring and summer. If you see me around Wayland, please say hi!

My Favorite Wayland Massachusetts photo session locations!
Cow Common, Wayland Massachusetts
This Wayland Conservation Land field, Cow Common, is beautiful at sunset. The sun rises across the street, so I would not recommend it for morning sessions. The large tree in the middle of the field is beautiful in the fall. The tree adds great shade for photographs in the middle of the field. The parking lot is right at the field. Other than walking in the field, there is no walking required to get to the location.
Heard Farm, Wayland Massachusetts
This Wayland Conservation Area land, Heard Farm, is beautiful and filled with large fields of tall grass. When you walk one way from the parking lot, it is about a 3 minute walk to a field and then from there another 2 minutes to an area with large apple trees. In the other direction from the parking lot, you walk into another large field and it is about a 10 minute walk to a small orchard. This location is great if your family likes to walk together. We can walk and let the kids explore and stop now and then to take some more directed photos.
Greenways Conservation Land is one of my kids’ favorite spots for walking! The parking lot is a small area at the end of a residential street. You have to walk through the woods to get to the field, but it’s literally only a one minute walk. There are some nice trees for shade, a pretty field, and a stone wall at this location. This is a popular spot for walking dogs, so if you have a family member who is scared of dogs I would avoid this location.
