Recently, I had a sweet outdoor newborn photo session where the parents let me know ahead of time that they didn’t want to share photos of their baby’s face on social media. I loved that they told me before the session, because it gave me the chance to plan creative posing that would work beautifully for them. We created some beautiful faceless baby photos.
We were able to capture images full of connection—little hands resting on mom’s shoulder, baby nestled safely in dad’s arms, and tiny details like toes, curls, and cuddles. These photos tell the story of their family without showing baby’s face, so they feel comfortable sharing them with friends and family online. Their full gallery, of course, includes plenty of smiling portraits just for them to treasure privately.
I know that every family feels differently about online privacy, especially when it comes to little ones. If you’re someone who doesn’t want to share your child’s face online, there are still so many ways we can create faceless baby photos that feel authentic, loving, and meaningful. Close-up detail shots, over-the-shoulder perspectives, and lifestyle images that highlight connection rather than faces can all make for gorgeous, shareable images.
When we work together, communication is key. If you’d like some photos designed specifically for sharing without showing your child’s face, let me know before your session. That way I can keep this in mind as I pose and capture your family. My goal is always to create a gallery that reflects your story—both for your private keepsakes and for anything you’d like to share publicly.
At the end of the day, your photos should feel true to your family and your comfort level. Whether you choose to share your child’s face or not, we’ll create images full of love, connection, and joy.
