We went to New Hampshire over February break to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It definitely wasn’t Florida, but for a trip that was driving distance (and cold), we had fun!
We stopped at The Butterfly Place on our drive up. My 7 year old wanted a butterfly to land on her, so she stayed still for 20 minutes, but they never did. My 3 year old was terrified when they got close, but had many try to land on her floral dress. If your going to check this place out and want butterflies to land on you, don’t wear a flower print.
I was too late in planning this trip, so we weren’t able to stay at The River Walk Resort where skating is included, but they open the rink up to the public in the afternoon for $10. The girls thought it was so cool that they were skating on a frozen pool.
We discovered The Common Man Restaurant had a good gluten free menu and was kid friendly, so we actually went there for dinner both nights.
The main attraction on our the trip were the Ice Castles . When I checked the weather earlier in the week and saw that it was a high of 15 degrees, I quickly ordered long undies on Amazon Prime for all of us :). I am so glad I did. We ended up staying at the castles for a little over an hour, much longer than I thought we would last in the cold. I would definitely suggest long underwear and snow pants for visiting the ice castles.
The hotel room had big windows and white linens, so I had to take a few photos of the girls playing and snuggling on the bed.
I am sad to see vacation go, but am ready to get back to a routine and hopefully some warmer weather soon.
