I had some major design envy walking into Jessica of JMRG design’s house.  From seeing her home and chatting with Jessica, I could tell how passionate she is about design and picking paint colors.

What brought you to opening your Natick business?

Prior to the pandemic I was a full time working mom. My background is pretty diverse, but mostly I worked in retail visual merchandising and marketing communications. At the start of the pandemic, I took a step back from working full time to focus on caring for my two young daughters, who were 1 and 3 at the time. This gave me immeasurable precious time with them plus a few minutes here and there to do some career soul searching. When childcare reopened, I decided not to return to a full time position. I took the opportunity to start my own business, working the “mom hours” and being with them in the afternoons.

In 2020, I began working directly with clients, putting my years of experience to good use helping other small, independent retail business owners. I provide visual merchandising on a contract basis and create store and window displays and fixtures for boutique shops.

In 2021, I harnessed my life long passion for home decorating and knack for solving puzzles into a fulfilling career in Home Staging. Specializing in occupied properties, I love working with Realtors and homeowners to bring out the best in each space.

In 2022, I turned a love for color into a practical use by completing course work in color theory and trends, and started providing color consultations for residential paint projects.

Currently, I’m living in South Natick and helping clients in the Greater Boston / MetroWest area with retail visual merchandising, specialty store strategy and assortment planning, occupied home stagings, residential color selection and interior design.

What is something that makes your Natick business special?

I do a lot of different things which keeps my days interesting. I’m always looking for creative projects at work and in my own life. Often times I’ve started doing something professionally that came from a conversation with a client – talking about something I’ve done for years that I enjoy, I’m now getting paid for. It’s a gift to be able to provide a service to others doing something that brings me personal joy. I love my “job”!

What might people not know about you or your business that you would want them to know?

In regards to staging, my services are highly affordable compared to other providers in our area. That’s because I use the homeowners furniture as much as possible, although I do have on-trend, easy to move accent pieces that can be brought in as needed. Almost every listing can benefit from a visual edit, brand new linens and trendy decor. It’s quick, easy, and relatively low cost.

Working with Realtors I know schedules change on a dime so I’m flexible and usually ready to move with just a few days notice. I love to review properties in person to see everything I have to work with, but when time/travel/budget constraints I can easily prepare projects using photo/video content provided by the home owner or listing agent.

Do you have any holiday specials?

I have a background of creating visual installations for retail environments. Some of my favorite installations are Holiday themed. It is a time to get real festive and creative! One of the services I now offer clients is a Seasonal Decor Installation. For homeowners that love when a house feels festive but don’t have time to set it all up themselves. What is something you love about Natick or your favorite spot in Natick?

My house is right on the Eisenmenger Trail system that runs through Natick. My family and I love having the the ability to walk out our door and explore the criss-crossing paths right in our neighborhood.
