This Dad deserves an award after this session. He was on duty for wrangling the two big sisters. Boy did their two year old like to run :). I know he was hot and tired, but he was such a good sport about it. A good attitude is so important for getting great photos!
With it being the week of Father’s Day, I thought I would acknowledge and thank all the dads who a photo session may not be on the top of the list of things they would like to do, but show up with a great attitude. When parents have fun at a session, so do the kids. I am always so appreciative of a Dad who is willing to pretend like the camera isn’t there and just play with his kids.
For the majority of my sessions, it is the Mom who reaches out to me about a session. Mom is also often the “photographer” of the family. So, getting in the photos is so important to her. I asked my husband if he enjoys it when we have sessions. He said that doing photo sessions is not his favorite thing to do. He knows though how important they are to me and that the more he embraces having fun with it the better the photos will be. I think he hit the nail on the head with his answer. Dads, a photo session doesn’t have to be your favorite thing, but I appreciate you doing it because it’s important to your wife and kids. Being a good sport for your session makes the whole thing so much more enjoyable for everyone. So, on this Father’s Day I want to thank all the Dad’s who show up to sessions with a great attitude! I hope you all have a great Father’s Day .
