I’ve had the chance to join the Chickadee and Hen postpartum mom group several times now, and it has become something I really look forward to. There’s something special about being in a room full of new moms who are figuring things out together, supporting each other, and finding a little calm in the middle of a hectic season.
When I visit, I share a few simple tips for taking photos of their babies. Nothing fancy, just little ideas that make it easier to capture those everyday moments that go by so quickly. After that, I get to spend time photographing the moms with their babies, which is honestly my favorite part. So many moms are behind the camera most days, so helping them be in the frame with their little ones feels meaningful every single time.
I love the mix of chatting, laughing, and just being present with these women. Motherhood can feel isolating, especially in the early weeks, but this group creates such a warm and supportive space. Watching moms connect with each other while I get to document those tiny snuggles and sleepy smiles is something I never take for granted.
Chickadee and Hen has built a community where moms can show up as they are, and I’m thankful to be a small part of it. Thank you for inviting me to join your Postpartum mom group.
