One of the most special parts of my job as a newborn photographer is witnessing families grow. I first met this sweet couple in the fall for their maternity session, capturing the excitement and anticipation as they prepared to meet their little one. Now, just a few months later, I had the absolute joy of stepping into their home to document their newest addition—along with their three adorable pups!

There’s something so intimate and heartwarming about in-home newborn sessions. These early days of parenthood are filled with so much love, learning, and adjusting. The days are long, the nights can be even longer, but the moments are fleeting, and I love being able to preserve them in a way that feels natural and true to each family’s unique story.

One of my favorite parts of newborn sessions is hearing about the birth experience—how it unfolded, the unexpected moments, and the overwhelming joy of finally holding their baby for the first time. Every story is different, but what remains the same is the depth of love and awe in a new parent’s eyes.

After spending time indoors capturing the sweetness of these early days, we stepped outside into their snow-covered yard for a few more photos. The crisp winter air and fresh snow made for such a beautiful, peaceful backdrop. As we wrapped the baby in cozy layers, their three pups ran and played around us, adding a playful energy to the session. It was the perfect way to end our time together—documenting not just the love within their home, but also the joy that surrounds them.
