We lucked out with a rare gift from Mother Nature—a glorious 50-degree day in February. Picture this: a stunning field of tall golden grass, providing the perfect canvas for a winter family photo session filled with laughter, joy, and an abundance of love.

This mom is a fellow photographer. Our paths first crossed in the fall at the same location.  As I prepared for the day, a mix of excitement and nervousness filled the me. After all, photographing another photographer’s family is both an honor and a little scary 🙂

The golden grasses swayed gently in the breeze, setting the stage for an atmosphere that was not only visually captivating but also radiated warmth. I absolutely love the texture, softess and warmth that the tall golden grass brought to these photos.

This family, borrowed clothes from my client closet.  This led to a light, neutral, and cohesive look that let the images focus on the family and their bond.

This family’s joy was palpable. Laughter echoed through the air as we ran through the field together, capturing spontaneous moments of pure happiness. And yes, amidst the laughter, there were even a few cheeky poop jokes that added a touch of humor and lightness to the day.

To my fellow photographer-mom, thank you for allowing me to freeze these moments of joy and love for your family. Your ease in front of the camera and the genuine connections you all shared made this session an absolute delight.
