This Norfolk MA photo session definitely takes the prize for coldest session.  My weather app said it felt like 10 degrees.  We had rescheduled the session from the previous weekend, where it had also been super cold and windy.  Since it was this little ladies first birthday, her mom and I decided we would try the session. Our goal was a few minute just to at least get her a few first birthday photos.

This mom is a photographer so she knew what I was asking for as I rattled off directions for posing and prompting.  We quickly got some family photos and put the birthday girl back in her warm snow suit.  I took a minute to get a few photos of the parents. Then while dad and baby warmed up in the car we finished up with a few photos of just mom.  It was a whirlwind of a session but I am so happy with the results.  Between the original date of the session and the rescheduled date it snowed.  Between the snow, glowy light and this adorable family I have so many favorite from this session.

It may have been cold but now this family will always have these photos of her first birthday and a great story to tell her about how they braved the freezing cold weather to document her day!

This mom is a photographer who I’ve become friends with on social media.  We had never met before this session and joked that we didn’t know whether to say “nice to meet you” or “nice to see you” at the end of the session.  Do you have any social media friends that you feel like you know, but have never met in person?
